Bert Miller is an established and respected local businessman and landowner. He currently owns Bert Miller Contracting and Nugget Contracting, operating in sand, gravel, top soil, quarry products, road hauling, concrete, excavating & heavy equipment contracting, and mining businesses.

Bert developed the Deer Ridge subdivision adjacent to the Canyon Ridge site between 1996 and 1997. The subdivision started before the announcement of the Kicking Horse Resort development. The development of 24 lots is complete and fully sold. Bert has owned the Canyon Ridge site for several years and has put together an experienced development and planning team to ensure the success of this latest project.
